The NBRO was established in 1984, and now have reached the age of 25 years. On 12th November, 2009 NBRO celebrates her Silver Jubilee at Hotel Hilton under the patronage of Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Minister of Disaster Management and Human Rights. NBRO is not an organization setup up her excellence only at the cutting edge of Research and Development but also serve the nation by providing consultancy services in different fields of disciplines to a wide range of customers. |

Mr R.M.S Bandara Landslide Studies and Services Division of National Building Research Organisation established in 1992 as a separate division to conduct more effective landslide related studies including landslide hazard zonation-mapping, awareness, mitigation and real time forecasting in Sri Lanka. Divisional activities have supported to become to be the leading and most important institute for landslide related works through out the country. It is my pleasure to put this note as the head of the leading and enthustic division of NBRO which has given more and more contribution to reduce the landslide risk at the people and properties in landslide prone areas of Sri Lanka. I wish this website also help the people to share our achievements and findings to reduce landslide vulnerability to their lives and properties.
