In line with the programme of action for achieving a fourfold outcome: a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation implemented in accordance with the policy statement “Vistas of prosperity and splendour”, in conjunction with the Special Program in Action with the participation of public servants on the first day of the commencement of duties in 2021, New Year celebrations of the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) were held adapting Health Guidelines with the participation of the Director General, Heads of Divisions  and a limited number of staff.

The National Flag was hoisted, the National Anthem was sung, a two minute silence was observed for all those who sacrificed their lives for the country, including the war heroes, and the Public Service Pledge / Oath was read.

This was followed by a keynote address on Individual and Social Responsibility to Prevent the Spread of Covid Virus and a short talk by the Director General on the need for staff contributions to a prosperous Sri Lanka. All other staff members were also invited to participate in the event through Zoom Technology.
