Timber is a valued naturally extracted resource, which is widely used as a material in the construction industry around the world. Ensuring the sustainable use of this valuable resource with minimal impact on the environment is a timely concern. Since many of the NBRO professionals are closely working with the construction industry in Sri Lanka, the technical knowhow on the sustainable use of timber as a construction material is a both important and technically inspiring theme for a technical dialogue. Recognizing this need, Association of Professionals of NBRO organized an interactive lecture session on “Sustainable Timber Usage in Construction Industry” on 18.02.2022. Mr. Samoan Warusawithana, an eminent industrial, professional and a patent holder conducted the lecture elaborating the importance of sustainable use of timber and practical and feasible solutions, which can be easily applied in the construction fields.

This is the second event of the series of monthly tech-talks planned by NBRO Association of Professionals. The monthly tech-talks on timely, relevant themes is one of the initiatives aimed to enhance the career development and technical knowledge sharing among the NBRO professionals and professionals from the other similar technical capacities.
