- Application of assessment criteria to case study
- Establish the current status of water resources health in Polgolla watershed
- Propose watershed management strategies
- Develop institutional capacities in watershed assessment and management
Research Methodology
Detailed Assessments of the Research
- Preparation of maps with salient watershed features of Polgolla watershed (Q-GIS software)
- Baseline map of the Polgolla watershed with delineated sub watersheds
- Sub watershed population density map
- Map indicating the availability of sanitary facilities of each sub watershed
- Map indicating the land use of the riparian zone of the streams and tributaries belonging to Polgo lla watershed
- Collection of qualitative and quantitative data on inputs of C, N, P, Sediment, feacal pollutants and
runoff
- Development of data forms for collecting qualitative and quantitative data
- Collection of information for the preparation of maps indicating other salient features of the Polgolla watershed such as the housing density, land use systems, and application of agrochemicals, etc.
